Like many programmers, one of my first graphics programs was a Mandelbrot fractal generator which ran on
an Apple II back in 1986.
In 1989 I had written one for the University of Washington's VAX8600 system and a color slide film camera.
I had since written a Mandelbrot program for nearly every OS I had come across over the years.
Benoît Mandelbrot was inspirational to me in my love of computer graphics and mathematics.
I hope you enjoy this lively updated version of the Mandelbrot set with 3D
shading and patterns and an infinitely varying palette.
